RESUME

For the past ten years Ambrei Koory has been discovering the rich interrelation of dance, art, and design. As a double major in Dance and Art History, Ambrei values the reciprocity between art forms and the ability to learn from immersion into the expansive field of creative disciplines. Within art history, Ambrei has studied the pre-history, modern, and contemporary eras with special emphasis on performance art and religious/sacred art relating to the body. She is the recipient of the John Montgomery Wilson Award in Art History and is currently pursuing a career in exhibit curator and writing. In addition, Ambrei has danced at the pre-professional level and has performed various classical and contemporary works throughout her career. Her dance experience ranges from classical ballet, classical partnering, contemporary, modern, and jazz. Recently, Ambrei has performed as a member of StrikeTime dance company as a dancer, choreographer, and artist. Ambrei seeks to approach choreographic work and artistic development through the eye of design applying the principles of art and visual analysis into dance. 

 

The integration of dance and art has inspired Ambrei to pursue a masters degree in Art History to provide recognition and appreciation for the arts through academic research and study. Additionally, Ambrei has tailored her lens on art history to focus on providing dignity and celebration of art from various cultures and people groups allowing each society in time to have the platform to share and be appreciated.
